MULLET REEL

at the moment i am using a wee cheapy thing, because i do mnot wanna use my good coarse reels on the salt water, is there any decent reels for mulleting? :?: :?

yep. your good coarse reels. mullet need a smooth drag as you know yourself, and i find that the larger shimano coarse reels do the job nicely, at the moment i'm using a double handle shimano stradic rear drag 4000. great little reel, and not bad value either.

if your worried about the saltwater affecting your good reels just give them a rinse in freshwater afterward and you will be fine.

Don't know if you've bought a reel yet but i just got a shimano exage 2500 for €69 and it looks the business. Nice and light too so balances the float rod well, handy if you're using light gear.

no i havnt got one yet, i know most shimanos reels have stainless steel bearings, etc, so might try and get a shimano one.
