weighting scales

can anyone reccomend a decent digital scales?

the one i have is pretty crap with a dial in kgs. im lookin for something digital that can be switched from lbs to kgs. preferably not too expensive. maybe around 30 or 40 euro max.

There are loads of options. The best I’ve used are the Ruben Heaton 7030 and the Salter Electro Samson. These are just outside your desired range but are two great scales.

I am told that the Berkeley 50lb scales is not too bad and would be in the range you are looking for.

The main issue is if you are going to get it certified (you may as well). A cheaper scales may be fine the first year but could be in trouble down the road whereas the first two scales above will last a long time. The samson’s can give trouble with the switch pad after a few years. I have the RH 7030 just under a year and it is getting along fine and feels “tougher” than the salter.

Howdy, as nige said i got a Berkley Tec Digital scales a few months back model TDS100 it weighs up to 100LB show's kG's also comes with a carry case has lots of features is one of the most accurate digital scales on the market accurate up to 1/10th of 1% had mine certified. You can get one that weighs up to 35LBs also if you shop around you'll get some good prices available in 35LB at the moment from one of the well known Uk online tackle dealers. just ordered the berkley tec 35lb one. was gonna get the 100lb as it was only a few euro more but it was sold out. anyway, i think the 35lb is more than big enough for me. i should have it early next week.
now i just need to find another few fish worth weighting.

You need to bring it in to one of the regional verification centres to be certified, there is a list of them on the Irish Specimen Fish website. http://www.irish-trophy-fish.com/notices/weights_measures.htm

Bring it to the Legal Metrology Office on Rossa Ave (next door to CIT).
Give them a ring first (021 4346256) Wednesday is angling cert day.
They might do it while you wait, they will at least have it done within an hour.
