Can anyone recomend a half decent fixed spool reel for spinning over reef from a boat?

shimano 8) if you intend casting much lead or big lures go for a front drag as they lock down better the rear drag is ok up to 3 oz but slips if put under serious pressure

Okuma are making fantastically great f/s reels, for the price of them.

I use the Penn Surfmaster for gilling from the boat. It can put up with a bit of punishment.

For ordinary spinning for bass I use both a Shimano and Okuma. Both are excellent.
