Hi. Could someone please advise on a new pair of breathable waders. Searching through ebay throws up lots of brands I don't recognise with some cheap prices. Anybody know anything about brands like Bison, Airflo, Snowbee and how good are Greys waders. Would love a pair of Scierras but couldn't justify the cost.
Also for scrambling over rocks and weed should I use felt or stud soled boots?
Thanks for any advice

Hi,
the Hardy EWS waders are top class. They were 350 but are now around 200 as a new model is coming out (The Marksman I think!). I would recommend acquastealth soles on boots but if these are too costly go for stitched felt (up to you on studs). A good bargain brand would be vision flywater at 220 with boots (stitched and studs). I can pm you some weblinks for breathables if you want. Also, recommend trying em on for size before you buy. There are a few shops in the sth east that sell em so you will have a bit of choice.

Smiley,
I bought my last pair off the shop in ballymacarbry in waterford. The weblink is
http://www.flyfishingireland.com Theres shops in the city, O'briens I find quite good for general shore gear and frozen bait but none have the choice of breathables and boots that yer man has. For other tackle there is baumanns in Dungarvan or tightlines in cappoquin aswell. There is a small shop in Tramore too. Another weblink would be
http://www.shorefishingireland.com Hope this helps.

Dunner,
can't comment on the scierra ones. IMO you get wot you pay for with breathables though. The dearer ones have more layers and last longer. Still seem to be just as breathable. D hardy ones seem to be the best bargain lately. The same goes for boots. Cheap ones - unstitched felt - wont last. Better ones - stitched felt (with or without studs) - last longer. Best ones I got - acquastealth soles - the biz.

Thanks for the advice lads. Finally decided on a pair of Hardys EWS at a V good price through ebay and a pair of good value felt soled boots from Bison. I have used the hardys twice now and seem superb. 5 layers of material in the seat and legs and 4 elsewhere. After a while you don't even notice your wearing them. Although not as warm as my Neoprenes

i bought a pair of rapala breathable waders on ebay lately.they were only £69 and post free in uk.
they didn`t come with boots but i bought a cheap pair of hiking boots for £15 which will do me this year.
i have to say im very impressed with them.very comfortable for walking around in and unlike neoprene there`s no more sweating buckets when there is a long walk to the chosen fishing mark(which is usually the case with my fishing

)
i remember last year myself and colin c had went to try out a new mark but it involved a walk of nearly 4 miles there and back.we arrived back at the cars looking like we had P****d ourselves.
although just between us i think colin did

he smelt like an old folks home first thing in the morning before the beds have been changed...... sshhh dont tell anybody
