I had this rod in my spare room for the last 5 years and decided to bring it out and give it a go I always use either conoflex or century kompressor's or tiptornado's but I think the penn sidewinder evo is under rated for a general fishing rod its v light and keeps still in rough conditions and has great bite detection
Does anyone else use the penn sidewinder evo and if you do what do you think ??

i do and to tell you the truth i think its more a rough ground rod its got plenty of backbone ,the problem is we buy so much gear we forget the stuff in the shed gathering dust ,right thats it i,m gonna reverse the order of my rods and start from using some of my older gear i,m sure thier is nothing wrong with it ,i have a esprite 13 rod that needs a good bending too

Pat has that particular rod.
Ive used a couple of times, I found it to be a bit stiff for general clean ground/surf fishing.
It would be right at home hauling codling through kelp though, or pulling in trebles of doggies at a match.

Thanks for the input guys
Its a good rod for the rough stuff allright I also gave away a penn INXS a few years ago kinda regret it now lol another great rod to cast with you would get 190 yds plus easily and it was only 12.5 foot too
