(Not sure if this is "tackle", but its some kind of related kit anyway).
A friend of mine sadly died in mountains in California a few months back (
http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_10667743?nclick_check=1) and all the hoo-ha about the rescue and his GPS emergency personal locator and the fact I was thinking about him now its Xmas got me wondering - do we have such a service in Ireland? I.e., can you buy a GPS locator here that will call some emergency service if you get into trouble transmitting the coordinates? Maybe the smaller country here means a mobile phone would be as handy, but I could see some uses for it if you didn't know the local area too well and you were in a real bad way and couldn't dial for help etc.
