SONIK sea rods

had a look at the beachcaster today it looks thick what end do you put the reel on for 130 odd yo yos you can get some fairly decent rods shimano and grauvell do some good ones for less ,judging by the tip its bite detection is non existant ,save your money and get the best rod you can afford

i have the sonic sk3 5-7oz rough ground rod. thought it was a good rod for the price stiff with a thick tip but i expected that in a rough ground rod. Thought it was an ok rod right up to the point the tip broke off 2 hours into the first fishing session (see avatar). Eventually got a replacement after paying for their rapidex lifetime rod replacement scheme now i am afraid to bring it to rough ground.

I am using the Penn 14ft rough stuff rod and find it great, its predecessor the noreaster was also a good rod, stiff rod but still has bite detection,,,,,

lads if your looking for a rough ground rod and not pricey look at the ron thompson axcellarator or the dam adrenaline BOTH THE SAME ROD by the way cracking rod for the money.lots of power and would pull the plug out!!!!!!!

Seems they aren't made as well as they're marketed. Lots of broken tip stories floating around. Smicker were you pulling for a break and got more than ya bargained for ?

agreed. its generally accepted thats its the best for the rough this side of a conoflex anubis/nemisis...if not as good...and with distances of 270 yards or so on the field....the only reason it isnt more popular is because most so called "pros" wouldnt be seen with a ron thompson....

Sonik rods are built by lads that worked for greys, they decided to break away and have a go at it themselves..

No, just trying to lift the tackle out on the initial rod lift, felt the snag and tried to bully it out with a couple of jerks - tip snapped

Same here,
Been in use for over 3 years on all types of ground and would never leave it behind when packing for the coast.. a horse of a rod.
