how ye folks!
i have a new triplex, fished it once in courtown with an abu mag elite. great rod and savage distance but it's very hard to break down. any sugestions on how to help with this problem?
i don't want to rub down the joints with sand paper cause it's too pricey to maks a balls of

the best wayi have found is to cover both joints with a liberal smear of grease push them gently together[and i mean gently] and rotate the joint when you do this, wipe the grease of with a clean rag,and you will find it has little particles of carbon in it repeat this again and do it with all the joints on the rod.if done right your joints will be a nice tight fit but will come apart with no trouble.i know this works as i had to do it with some of my century rods and it was a great sucess.cheers john

sound john, i will try that, did it before with an abu rod using scilicone lubricant which later turned out to be sealant! i had to breakout the hack saw! not pretty!

HENRY IN HENRYS TACKLE TOLD ME TO GET A PENCIL AND RUB THE GRAPHITE INTO THE JOINTS.AND IT WORKED VERY WELL.I WOULDNT USE ANY OIL ETC ON IT.OH AND I ALSO HAVE A TRIPLEX AND I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.
