Where are all the mackerel in Dublin

Wed Sep 24, 2008 7:52 pm

Been terrible in Dublin, Howth and Dalkey this year for mackerel. Does anyone know where they are? Been around all the usual spots dropping feathers off a boat, but nothng except the occasional minnow. Is it something to do with the lack of raw sewage going into the water these last 2 years?

Cheers all
Alan

Mackeral have been scarce all over the country this year.

Hopefully just a once off.

I don't think it's just the humans that are having trouble. Just look at the amount of blue sharks that have been caught this year!!!

I wouldn't agree with macks been scarce all around the country...they've been quite plentiful around these parts at times this summer.

Fresh Water has saturated the Bay from Ireland's Eye to Dalkey pushing the Mack's south !!

They've been gone now for the past two weeks . Although there are a small few around Lambay !!
