Indestructable. Undestructable? Non-destructable? Good choice, whichever. :D

The Ugly Stick's are great little rods alright, in terms of value for money and durability they're hard to beat. They aren't the most sensitive or refined rods but they do the job.

I have an 8ft ugly stick which i had been using for the last 6-7 years, agree that they are indestructable and you can really play fish hard with them. I decided to go with something with a little more length and bought a mike ladle surespin which is excellent, and a rockhopper rod which seems very similar. These are both longer rods of about 11 foot, but both seem very good, the rockhopper can be picked up now for about £35 - half the price of the surespin. I still think the ugly stik is a great rod though.

......spot on there Tanglerat, have been using the 8' model ( cork handle ) for years and i love it, some years back they brought out a 9' model with a foam handle, was not fussed on it, it was a little to stiff and not very sensitive. but for strengh and durability the uglystick is one cracker of a rod you couldn't fault them....

i use a fenwick saltstick graphite. 9 foot 2pc. model ssgt 90h-2. cracking quality rod. also use berkley lightling rod saltwater. model lstss902mh which is a much stronger rod and could cope with everything from bass/pollock/cod to tope. thinking of selling my spare one to get a travel rod instead.
