I remember reading about this device in one of the mags not too long ago and thinking that some people have too much time on their hands. But now I see it has gone into commercial production.
Would love to see what would happen if your forgot to open the bail arm of your reel. Could be a big seller in the tackle shops in Limerick.

Just think what would happen to your rod and reel if you get a wind knot that catches the first guide
Would be a great spectator sport.
Also as mentioned one poubd weights then have to be wound back in , hopefully not getting snagged
These are band in Australia as they are considered a weapon by the authorities

1 lb weight ? come on lads get reel four or five retreives and you would need a day off work to recover not to mention carrying an extre 12 lbs onto the beach every trip , just too much weight involved ,if i was that desperate to get out 300 yards i think a boat would less hassle

I had a look at the video  . Why dont they show you what happens to the baitcaster when it goes off, surely theres recoil :? . Would be easier to get scuba equipment and a harpoon gun and go after the fish that way  I have enough to contend with in setting up the rod on its own,,,,,,, and what if you stepped in a loop in the line  ,,,,,,,,,,helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllppppp!!!!!!

Shame on you Gearoid slagging off Limerick!!
My first comment was meerly in relation to the poor casting ability of Limerick anglers and nothing to do with its use as a WOMD. :)
