I use the spinning version and have to say it is the dogs. I have bashed mine around salt and fresh water now for 4 years or so. Not a bother with it.

I have had one for the last 6 months.Fantastic rod.Loads of power(I still can't load the blank fully but can get 180 yards with an otg cast)and great bite detection. It has even shown bites from 6 inch pouting. I have used it on the beach and from rocks and it is as comfortable on either.

The model I have is the sports beach model.13 feet long in 2 equal sections with a 16 inch reducer.I have checked out the xp and sx models in England. They are thinner and lighter than the model i have and have the bonus of coming with a grip lock reel seat but I found that there seems to be more power in the sports beach model which makes it more comfortable for me to use from the rocks. Not cheap though.Cost 220 euro.Apart from my 525 slidy it is the best investment I have made.
