Chest waders

After a set of chest waders with boot foot.

Anyone got any opinions or items they can recommend?

what type of chest waders you after all in one or are you going to be doing fly fishing in rivers also or is it just for beach fishing ?
you can pick up a cheap set of a all in one for 40 or 50 euro with cladded soles so you wont slip on weed and rocks etc .
for the river fishing i have a serria set with boots this will set you back from 250-700 euro .
the all in one are mostly neapre which is ideal keeps you warmer in the salt water .

Will be using them for beach fishing mainly. Some of the neoprene ones look uncomfortable (me being 16st and over 6ft) and sweaty. I like the look of the looser, breathable chest waders. Would these be better with built in boot or with stocking foot plus detachable boots?

Could you recommend anything?

Sorry - lots of questions but never worn them before and want to get it right before i spend the hard-earned!!

Have a pair of cheap and cheerful snowbees, a bit sweaty and I'm not as big as yourself but do the job fine. Option of unbooted waders is good as you can get better grip on other than sand with specialist (expensive) boots, very useful if the ground is round or uneven, especially the smooth rocky shores you find if you go wading casting with lures or swff...

Neoprene are useful, warmer, bugger to fix if they get ripped or torn... old plastic is cheapest, you use a tube of glue you keep in the freezer.

A mate uses the Guidewear (?) from the USA, he brought his over with him, rates them extremely highly. unbooted variety, looks very nice, not sure they are the strongest thing ever invented. It might be worth trying to find them online as the USD is worth very little in comparison with sterling now.

A useful trick is to put a plastic bag around each socked foot as you step into the waders, you will find the bag allows you get out very quickly.

just make sure when your getting boots make sure the have cladded soles anitslip material.

if getting neoprene beware the dreaded WADERBALLS !!!!!!! ok for winter use or wading but for general beach work over 8 degrees prepare to boil your bxxlllxox :lol: :lol:
