Dynon 3000 - camouflage xfc

Has anybody used this new braid from Dynon?? I think it replaced the dynon mct.

I bought a 300yd spool of 17lb. I plan to load it onto my shimano aero technium with tapered shockleader and give it a few lobs during the week.

It is fairly stiff and an extremly low diameter. Have had 20lb whiplash pro before but this stuff looks like half that diameter again. Looks just like a spool of thread. Never knew it was going to be such a narrow diameter, should of gone for 30lb I think.

Went for a few casts today and added about 40 yards onto my previous best cast. was hitting about 210yds with an overhead thump. Not sure now it would hold up to bringing in a double doggy.

Well done john you took a bit of notice then,,,,,
word of advice if you are using a tapered leader dont ,,,,50 lbs strieght or cut the tapered leader away from the 15 lbs section to more substantial area of the leader,,
the braid ,even with turn knots will cut thro the nylon,,,
answer,,,,,,
use a high strength braid leader

I was casting with a rod that is rung with fuji low riders and unless I use a tapered leader I get terrible line wrap caused by the knot hitting the stripper ring.

I used a standard leader knot, I had no problems tying it with the dynon. It did not slip like other braids do. I don't think this should cut through the 17lb tapered end.

I had originally planned to loop the braid with a three turn overhand loop knot and then connect the leader to the loop but as you said the braid would cut through tapered mono leader. I don't think there should be as much pressure on the mono using the standard leader knot.

I suppose I could use a fairly heavy braided leader say 80lb or more but I like the feeling of a mono leader. I'll keep experimenting.

No point of using more breaking strength braid as a leader......its serve no purpose of using a leader....u better off with a straight braid....why???because leader material should have stretch and abrasion resistance.....thats the purpose of leader with braid.....braid is good on straight pull....strong.....but fail on sudden impact.....even an 80lbs....thats why we using mono/nylon/fc leader to get a bit of stretch from it in our line system......no.2....abrasion....as we all know monofilament is more better than multifilament braid when its come to abrasion resistance..... specially on the front end near our lure or rig which is more close and expose to the underwater structure and environment.

Knotwise , if u re very fussy bout the annoying bulge due to the leader knot which is most of the time wont flow smoothly through the guide, theres only one knot that can satisfy you....FG/Mid/Mid night knot. The only leader knot that don't have knot on the mono.....the problem is quite hard to master....need a lots of time to be done.....but again how many time do we perform leader changing task each session.....????Just my 2 cent.....cheeeerrrss...

try a grinner to grinner knot its the best i have tried without the need to double the braid i use 30lb braid and standard shock and tapered depending what reel and rod i,m using , the best thing obout the grinner to grinner is the two lines dont cut into each other as its the two knots that pull against each other , if fishing straight through the rapala knot with 10 turns is fool proof
