Hi all, just wondering what people think about the possibilities of using a multiplier with this 15ft rod.Its rung for a fixed spool as theres only a few eyes on it,i've been using the fixed spool on it but just wondering would it be worthwhile putting a few more rings on it to make it multiplier friendly or should i just try get rid of it and buy something with similiar action and shorter as i just don't know would the multiplier have decent results on such a long rod any views welcome.

main reason rod is rated for multiplier r fixed is -on which side of the rod produsent wraps the rings on, blank rated for both comes straight as needle, overwise its slightly bended to the side ,that makes if the rod tip is "looking" to the left-right side is stiffer,in this case for multiplier-rings goes on the stiffer side and that makes rod harder for casting and softer for playing fish....opposite story with fixed spool, rings goes on the bended (in this case-left)side,so and the reel making same creating same result-harder(mean rod stiffness) for casing and softer for playing fish...(i read that somewhere, and i think it makes sense..)

I dont think putting another few rings on would solve the problem, you would need to strip and rebuild. the reel seat would not be a problem as there are no rings on the bottom section.

Thanks for the replies men,had a good look at the rod last night and i've decided that it would be better to sell it off as is rather than do a diy job and have it gathering dust..
Besides it gives me a chance to replace it with a more conventional set up.Thanks again for the advice.
