The type of reel will depend on the species and size of fish you want to target

i usually pair mine up with a mag elite or a 7ht turbo.

well done on the choice, they are exellent rods.

Is there going to be much difference between a 7ht and a 7ht turbo to someone who is relatively new (coming back) to the sport, as the ordinary ht is about 45% cheaper. or will I regret it in the long run.

personally id get the standard 7ht and see if you keep up the fishing,,, the whole 7ht range im my experience (which is limited ) seem to be for clean beaches,,

yeah....i would agree. the 7ht is plenty, there is no need to buy the turbo aside from the color

Final received this set up after a 2 month wait  thankfully it was well worth the wait.
