Dymic LT14? Apart from not being equal sized sections it sounds like it ticks all your boxes.

'course, the only reason I suggesting that one in particular is because it's the only Zzippy i've got........... :D

The M4 butt diameter is 22mm and the ZTI comes in at a whopping 23mm  as does the Dymic LT14

This is only my opinion..the M4 would suit what your asking for more than the ZTI....TR is right about the LT14 another great fishing rod that doubles over grass

I would suggest your try and find someone who owns what your looking for and have a couple of chucks before buying.....its always the safest way to go Alan.

Hi Alan, the rod that probably suit you based on your criteria would be the TF 50/50 or the Dreamcast 50/50. Both have equal sections but it will cover your mixed ground but aren't too powerful for the clean ground either IMO.

The M4 might be slightly too strong in the tip for clean beach work to show up all bites although it is good over mixed ground but that's only my opinion.

The LT 14 again cracking rod although as mentioned, not 2 equal lengths.

I have a few Zziplex rods myself, the only reason I have so many is that I feel that Zziplex rods are designed for 1 thing. Whether that be clean ground fishing, mixed ground or heavy ground. Yes you can use 1 rod for different things but to get the best out of your fishing I feel you need a specific rod fit for the purpose. I wouldn't go fishing heavy ground with a profile, and likewise, I wouldn't go fishing clean beaches with a ZTI although there's no reason that you couldn't, I just feel that the ZTI's overgunned for palm sized flounders and likewise the Profile would struggle with a decent conger on the end.

What I use for heavy ground:
ZTI and HST

Mixed ground:
LT14 and Dreamcast 50/50

Clean ground
Primo Match
Profile
Powertex Bass.

You might be wondering why I have the dreamcast 50/50 in the mixed ground rods. It has a very fine match tip but it is very strong further on down the butt.

I've had other Zziplex rods in the past that I couldn't get on with!

As Tom said, your best bet is to try before you buy as what might suit me might not suit you.

Your more than welcome to make arrangements to give any of my rods a throw, but if I could say 1 thing, try as many different Zziplex rods as you can as you can get on with one rod and think it's the rod for you, but in the next breath you try a different 1 and bingo your view has changed.
One good thing about the Zziplex range: You buy 1 and if you don't get on with it you can get nearly as much for as resale as you paid for it which cant be bad.

a general zziplex would be a primo schyro is a general rod, used on rough ground (don't want to damage it so no real rock fishing ,yet) but on clean beach its bite detection is fantastic, but as every one says try some first, if you can come to a Ulster casting club meet and you can try mine if you want
