coloured leads

lads i have been looking for coloured leads for a long time that i can actually buy from a shop without having to go to the trouble of powder coating them, i just wanted to share this with yous , i have found a company but not a supplier yet, the green one you see is luminous, these are the leads that the italian team have been using for years, but sourcing them is another story

Got some of the lumo leads of ultramarine before but was wondering where you'd pick up some of the powder coated ones. Fished alongside a couple of welsh internationals earlier this summer and they swore by them. Mickeyfish if you find a stockist could you let us know :wink:

unfortunatly you have to put the powder coat on yourself, again i dont know of anywhere that does it

the likes of uk hooks will supply the powder coat but its a long process going to the trouble

another question has anyboby come across luminous powder coat

I know of a Powder coating place on the N2. I will ask them if they will powder coat leads and if they have Luminious. I'm sure we would need to get a lot of leads done to make it any way worth while.

that would be brilliant,

Mick, I have been coating my leads for years, and it only takes a couple of minutes to do,
heat them in the oven at @ 140c, hanging them off the racks with paperclips.
Give them a coat of white, put back in the oven for a min, then give them a coat of the main cover, back in the oven for another min, and finally give them a coat of clear powder paint.
Leave them in the oven @ 140 for 10 mins, turn it off, and let them cool down in there.
Going to the extra bother is what makes all the difference.

I get all my powder paint from the states, pm me if you need any info.

i got the luminous ones from ultramarine and a few of the popup beads great stuff and postage on the leads isnt expensive either.

Coated leads dont just look nice in your tackle box, they catch more fish. Plain and simple. You wanna see the effect a yellow lead has on cod and wrasse catches.....

Will get in touch with that powder coating company asap.

If you want leads coated , I can do them, have all the powder here. Will do it free of charge (within reason) for forum members . Feel free to call at the house or cover postal costs . Am not making anything out of it, just have a load of spare powder from Procast days !!

Or if you prefer to do it yourself , I have a load of powder here that's taking up space, red, yellow, fluro orange, orange speckle, metallic red, metallic blue, green, silver.
