A visually stunning piece of kit, This rod is deceptively powerful, infact im afraid to cast it becasue it has such a low diameter...But this rod would have a very hard time breaking, for its low dia its a beast... The bite detection is fantastic, it doesnt bounce around in the surf like most of my greys rods that are 2 times thicker..its sits steadily awaiting that anticipated bite... I cant rate the rod highly enough...Especially the custom job i had done, personalised to my own tastes...thanks to rockhopper Tom for all the hard work and dedication and also professionalism... Zziplex are quality, the fishing side of the rod is unreal and im sure the technical part of the rod is mind blowing... Again i would highly reccomend this rod for people who have heard about the Zziplex "Rod has its own mind" syndrome..This rod is user friendly along with the primo... Amazing

guess what i got one, and they are so light, powerful, and easy to use, the baited trace flew out no problem, and the bait arrived intact, pity i didnt catch a fish but saw every single crab bite,

A peach of a rod alright. I think keith white has been casting 150g with them recently and I was told that Peter Thain set his 18g world record using one, so that shows you the range of the rod, although I would be afraid to cast 150g with one myself. Carbon all the way to the tip, so I wouldn't describe the bite detection as fantastic.... Maybe it's performs differently on the beach, I've only had a little look at one.
Looking at it though, I would say it has to be one of the best Bass rods out there. On my wishlist, but after I get a decent match rod.

keith white has cast buffy(200g) to 200 meters on his profile lure, which i think is lighter than the standard profile.
then and again, this is the same guy that has been putting 175g on a TT ultralite.  :?

Sounds pretty crazy alright, but who am I to argue. Still what seems like miles away from 200m on any lead....
Just goes to show what these rods can do though. There not a rod for flatties though as the tip is full carbon and quite stiff.

Sorry Kev I couldn't disagree with you more. I think it's agreat flattie rod. I'll have mine two years in March( Bought from Tony at the Go fishing show). It picks up the smallest flounder bites doesn't fold in the surf and has back bone. Have cast 150 on it but find it's at its limit with 150 plus large bait. I never had a rod that gets more comments on the beach from anglers a couple of pegs away commenting on being able to see my bites but not there's on the rod beside them. I initially bought the rod for a bass rod with back bone for more. Now it's my match rod. Come to think of it I never leave home with out it.

would agree i think it has great bite dection, as for it being all carbon, so is my primo syhrco and it shows up flatties no problem

Peter Thian used the standard Profile when he broke the 18gm record....if you ever seen the video of him doing it, you would see one hell of a bend in the Profile for such a light weight.
To add to Martins comment, the whole Primo range is full carbon....the Primo Match has a very soft tip and gives great bite detection.
IMO the Profile Lure would make a much better BASS rod than the standard Profile....I remember one of the first comments about the Profile on here was that it was a jumped up Bass rod.........what a mistake    Just because its very slim...yeah right

I get that nervous feeling casting that much on it.... Sh*t scared of damaging it. Could be more to do with my timeing of the cast but I feel the butt straining going in to the hit on the cast with anything over 150gr. Maybe slowing down would improve this but like I say I don't want to damage the rod :?
Fri Jan 04, 2008 11:15 pm
what can i say... mine arrived in the post today  :D :D :D
like any new rod i was scared to put my power behind it.. i didnt need to... simple overheads were chucking the lead to the horizon(pity it was dark),
hit a snag on retrieve and the rod started to bend a little, damn it has alot of power behind it.. could easily see whiting bites and wasnt effected by strong winds either :D
if i didnt already love zzippys this would definitely convert me :D
