A fantastic bit of kit...a classic.. Very forgiving reel, i lashed it out today and hit a collosol distance and this beat just ate it up and spat it out, no bother to it... the only thing i can say is the retrieveis slow, it a 4:1, they have fixed this in the turbo version, the performance of this reel will help you over see that small problem......an absolute craker of a reel and id reccomend any newcomer to try this b4 you try the rest..very simple to use straight from the box...

i have two of the classic black ones, they are my main fishing reels and i think they are the best clean beach reel out, mainly when casting at night

7ht = brilliant multiplier! i have one. its very easy to cast and is a brilliant multiplier for beach fishing. i would also reccomend it for beginers to start with! and its only 70£!

7HT, excellernt reel.. good all rounder, able to haul in huss and doggies with ease...
set right it casts like a dream, cannot find any real fault with it, except with the feet, could be made of something a bit sturdier(salt corrosion is a bugger with them)

I thought the 7ht was a 1 piece graphite frame including the feet. The lack of corrosion on the feet being a big plus against the abus. Never had a 7ht but thats what i've read over the years.
