of course you need a dim headlight for bass fishing those bright ones spook the fish

To be honest the only thing these LED lights are good for is blinding everyone else on the beach.
They might go down well with the East Coast anglers for their, god help us, scretching for 20cm fish but if your into a good fish you need a good bright beam to play that fish in the surf the LED's do not have that.

I got my princeton tec apex in the post today.
I was dead happy to get the parcel, less happy once I'd opened it.
I specifically asked the ebay seller (the previously recommended sebastien

), prior to ordering/paying for it, if it was the newest 130 lumen model...he said yes it was. low and behold, now its turned up......yep you guessed, its the 80 lumen older model.. needless to say, I've reported it to the seller, ebay and paypal. We'll see what comes of my complaint.
On the plus side, I'll test this headlamp over the next week or so, and see is it any good

Heard back from the ebay seller this morning, and he reckons some confusion his end in packaging meant I got the older model...yeh right
Anyhow, he's gonna send the correct model, so I'll have the added benefit of being able to
roadtest this model until my new one arrives
Expect a tackle review shortly

Arent you a lucky bugger.
Have to say, I'm well impressed with the princeton I got recently, only downside really is that there isnt a lower light setting on it which would come in handy, unfortunately its not camo, so I'll be scaring off all them bass, but it is waterproof (not that I've tested it) to 1 metre - great for all that underwater (obviously only to 1m deep) fishing I do

you should of stuck to the l1's at least you get a choice of battery packs and a lot more light time from the batteries.
lx power save mode 45hrs
l1 power save mode 200hrs
