just said id let you all know that mactackle are now carrying the seaguar flurocarbon. its very reasonably priced IMO at only 17euro for a 200m spool. thats the same price as i pay for a 50m spool in uk

At the angling show the Mactackle boxes of Seaguar looked a little tatty and beaten up, so I'm not sure how well they were stored.. The price did look good though. After the experiences of others here I wouldn't order online.

Tied up some of the flurocarbon to a couple of rigs last night and hopefully get a chance to have a blast with it at the weekend

a buddy rang him last night and hes getting in new stock especially for our order so fingers xed it will be ok otherwise he'll be getting it back

It comes from Japan with Japaneese writing all over it, so it's got to be good :roll: :wink:

its made by the same company so im sure its good but the one i use is called carbonpro. also i just ordered 35 spools of the stuff between a few of us so i dont think ebay can deliver those sorts of quantities :lol: :lol:

Having the privilage to fish for Ireland on a number of occasions in the past in boat and shore championships, I was introduced to using flourocarbon line over 10 years ago. Since then i have used it exclusivley for snood lengths for all my fishing.
I honestly believe that in 99% of situations in Irish waters it does not make a difference because of its "invisibility", we do not get the crystal clear waters, and small species, and angling pressures that you get on the continent which neccesitate its use.
What it does give you is a line that behaves differently from normal mono, it is "harder" more ridgid, and moves differently. it also stretches well giving you very straight snoods, all these things are what make it so good.
The invisibility factor may help you freelining to mullet, or in other some such situations, but otherwise no.
There is a lot of psyhcology involved in being a top match angler, and anything that you have confidence in will naturally increase your catches. If you think that using flouro will increase your catches, it will !.
I have seen that proven many times when you see an angler doing/or using a method or rig that you might scoff at, and he fishes the pants off you... because he was confident.

it is a must for mullet - something to do with their eye sight and refractive index of the line!

a friend of mine has used 25lb mono for mullet (all he had with em at time). he has caught quite a few this way!
