i have cast a tip tornado match and i didnt like it. felt too detached from the lead. with the zippy you can feel where the lead is during the cast. sort of like a sixth sense

does world record caster danny moeksop not use a century???

Sat Nov 03, 2007 11:29 pm

Yes, but not an ordinary off the shelf Century..... have you any idea how many Century rods Danny has broken, he onecs cut his back open in a tournament when one snapped on him.....and they are made as one off specials for him...think about it

Many wonder just how far he would cast if he used a Zziplex though

Yawn - mines better than yours.

Its as simple as this folks is you actually learn how to use you fancy expensive beach rod for its intended purpose to its capabilities youll find its pretty damn good no matter if its a zippy, century or a cono-flex. I can think of and have used rods from each manufacturer for casting and fishing that are outstanding for their intended purpose and are designs/styles only avail from that manufacturer.

Alex flagged something important when he pointed out some manufacturers design principles lead to their rods having a diff feel, that can be a major decider for a lot of people and its a personal thing! Horses for courses and each to their own I say.

Care to tell us about these outstanding rods and the purposes they were designed and used for, please add if this is your opinion or the accepted opinion of users in general.

Zipplex Profile, 4/5oz general beach fishing from under your feet to a long way away.

Century FBS carp rods.

Cono-flex Carbon Kevlar 12lb class IGFA boat rod.

I dont think any of the above rods are avail from any of the other respective companys, I use and fish with these examples I also cast with rods from all the companys.

My opinions based on time spent using the products. Its not my place or desire to misinform, badly quote or provide others opinions.

Not interested in a row and have nothing to prove Tom so thats all I have to say.

Not looking for a row either Marty, you mention 3 rods, one is a carp rod, so doesnt fit into SEA angling, the other is a boat rod and this thread is about shore rods....so are you saying Zziplex make the best saltwater shore casting rods

Hi Paul, You have just bought IMHO one of the best rods (along with the profile) ever to come from Zziplex. Fantastic tip, super casting and very user friendly. A real peach of a rod. I have a few few zziplex rods myself and use each one for different purposes, whether it's clean beach, mixed or even rough I have a zziplex rod to suit, The ones I have are listed below:

Clean beach
Powertex Bass
Profile 8)
Primo Match 8)
Dreamcast 50/50

Mixed ground
Dymic LT14 M4

Rough ground
ZTI
Dymic HST

I don't feel I'm a tackle tart I just like to feel confident in the tackle I use. I've had lots of Century rods in the past, eg, supermatch, SRE, kom sport and WR300 but for some reason I just have real confidence in the rods from zziplex. Other rods makers I've tried include Greys, Diawa, Abu, Shakespeare so I've been through a few, but in the end I always come back to zziplex. I could guarentee if I was to give up sea fishing in the morn I would get nearly as much money for each rod as I paid for them!! There's not many rods you could say the say for. IMHO that's why I feel they are such good value.
