well all depending on what species your targeting, but the
bleeding gloworms
or the
mardigra rig
tipped with small baits works well, its great for scratching out the small stuff ideal for fishing around dalkey bray area if you are familiar with the variety of species that you would encounter there

put it this way all of the efsa lads were buying those 2 rigs i mentioned by the box load out of henrys and southside in dublin after a species comp in kilmore this year and they fish a 25cm size limit

The gear would be ok if it were tied on stronger line.... beraks to easily by the way any information on the Shimano Torsa 20 LD

well all comments are pro-active towards this rig the main thing is that we established it does most definatly catch fish,

the points mentioned were passed on to the the lads behind shamrock and this will assist them in improving the range of gear even more, ie heavier line, but a question back at you if you make it out of heavier line will the rig still work as well,

for those who lost fish by snoods breaking while bringing up big fish , was the drag being utilised, by reducing the pressure off the gear and wearing out the fish, you tend to loose more fish by having your drag locked off

......tryed them few days ago and got snag and the bottom snood "unwrapt" from the rig body.... lucky me the lost snood hooked on pirks :shock: :shock: :shock: ...so i got it and tyed back...better

A quick comment on the Kilmore Killers from shamrock, I'm not an expert, or a member of any international boat team, just a keen angler .

The snoods are tied on too light mono. We lost one big fish, possibly a ling, but when the fish had freed itself, we found a depressing curly bit of mono .Poorly tied, The hook had pulled.

As the snood is so light, if your catching lots of fish, the snoods wrap around the main rig body repeatedly, to the point where they are useless.
Being tide on heavier mono will remedy this
I am now retying all these rigs on heavier mono snoods.

They are however, excellent attractors in green and did catch plenty of fish

Bit disappointed after the reviews that they are great out of the packet though!

Have to agree with you Kev I used them at the weekend and they are nothing special in terms of build, Hayabusa rigs make them look quite stone age in comparison, but in saying that they are quite good for your basic species, Pollock, Codling, Ling, Scad etc.

Shamrock rigs used at the European Championships last week worked very well.
