Hi there,2 v good headlamps,i've a tiga myself and for fishing and baitcollecting during the winter months its great. The best thing about it is the wide beam of light it gives off covering a wide search area. The bad things are the battery is cumbersome and the connections can be finiky at times but it does give you the feeling of been safe in the dead of night.
I don't use it during summer months as its just a bit too bright and id imagine it spooks fish if constantly shun on the waters edge.I would buy again but with the lighter battery pack.

Totally agree with you, been using mine a few time now, you hardly notice you have it on!! And the light is slightly brighter than my silva L1, only difference is the battery life is shorter than that of the silva, but for what it is and the price of it!! I may get another as a backup and use the silva as a spare!!!

I must agree I have a tiga a silva and just got a Cree lamp off eBay for 15euro.
Using the Cree lamp with the silva as a back up .

speleo nova, has to be the best lamp I've had, have it over 4 years now with no bother, have the silva alpha 6, great lamp for shooting on the strobe, but find it dies to quick during a comp, cree lamps are exactly what they are, cheap useful and just buy another one when it dies , it al depends on your budget to be honest, just stay away from silva lx

and in fairness he said he wants to UPGRADE his head lamp

The led lenzer h7 is a real great headlight. It's bright as he'll cheap enough and it's so light u don't realise u are wearing one

Steer clear of them, they are powerful and lightweight but not only do they drink batteries the wire coming out of the battery pack breaks. I have seen this happen on 6 different lights, and i only know 6 people who have them
The one up from that, the H14 is a decent enough light but again it drinks batteries. And its fairly expensive.

I wouldn't feel safe fishing a potentially dangerous rock mark with one of those pathetic little yolks on my head. I like to actually see the environment around me. They do fine for beach marks, places you know well or as a backup.

and duracell have a little bunny, its called advertising
the cheap cree lamps and so on are grand as a cheap light, and very efective, ive been through so many of these over the last 3 years with shooting and fishing,
but the best lamp i have is without a doubt the speleo nova, if its a cree lamp your after there is one in my van you can have for free, but its not an upgrade at all
trying one of these at the mo

savage light of them would love to see a headlamp from them

Well done, you have completely missed the point. Congratulations.
I was not talking about how long they last, i will not argue they last a long time. What i was talking about is how much light they put out compared to what you might call a 'real' headlight. The answer is; not very much.

infairness alex some of the newer cree lamps give out plenty of light,
