Red Gill, East Ferry - 5th Feb 07

Tue Feb 06, 2007 9:53 pm

People: Me & George

Duration:1pm - 5pm

Tide:Ht 19:29

Weather:Calm, Cold, NE breeze

Bait:Mussels, lug, mack, squid, shads

Rigs:2 hook pats

Results:1 Codling, 2 Pollack, 1 Coalfish

Report:When we started off it was like a summers day with beautiful blue skies, sun & hardly any wind. As the tide started to flood it clouded over and got freezing cold.

We tried a usual mark for cod for the start of the flood. Had plenty of fresh mussels but had only one small coley for our troubles. For the last hour we drifted. Picked up a nice codling of 4lb and two pollack of about 3lbs. Otherwise very quiet. Was it the east in the wind, or are we just rusty?
