Poor season - improving

Postby Peter Kinsella » Wed Jul 28, 2004 7:40 am

Went out on Galway Bay neap high tide yesterday between 1100 and 1530 hrs. Great session - many mackeral, a few pollack, a solitary cod ( 6lb. -ish ) , 2 pout, 2 dogs, 3 B.wrasse, 1 large tope and 1 small ling.
Reckon I lost a couple of tope by striking too early. Using bottom fished flapper at about 90 ft.
Big numbers of sea birds - sitting, doing nothing. ( As opposed to the usual ones waiting for mackeral guts. )

Well done Peter. Any session with a 6 lb Cod is a nice session, never mind all the rest. I've had whole days on charters with less fish than that!
