donegal bay

Kirl and I fished out of Creevey Pier, to day. Mackerel all all over the bay, Fishing for winter bait. Made a decision to fish sand only. caught Dogs, Dabs, whiting, and good Thornbacks. strayed on to the rough near the shore, 4lb wrass to my mackerel bait. Weather beautiful. We fished areas where no other person fishes. As I can see all that is fished for here are Pollock

do you have contact details for the Creevey Charter boat ? That's the one that goes from the Hotel isn't it ?

What weight counts as a good thornback there?

Thornback are not fished much around here.( Most of the anglers just fish Pollock and wrass.) one of them I would estimate 7 to 8 lbs, the others 5lb on average

Dingbat - you're not fishing this Wednesday are you? I'm off and thinking about getting the line wet somewhere. Forecast is bad though.
