Picked up at the pier by Willem Van Dijk on "harpy".Started just off the old Head with feathers and caught coalies and pollack to about 5lb in about 80 feet. Then we moved to the wreck of the lusitania.Coalies, pollack and pouting to about 6lb again on feathers and hokkais. On the advice of the skipper changed to a blue shad on an 8 foot trace and landed the biggest pollack of the day about 11lb.Wow.Ican only imagine what a 20lb+ could do to your arms from 300 feet.Returned back to the old Head and caught mackeral and pouting. Then used these as bait to land an 18lb conger. Not big but a personal best :D
I cannot thank the skipper enough as nothing was to much trouble.I would highly reccomend both him and his boat. Will I be going out again?Ooh I think I just might.
By the way,I have been converted to braid.Super detection even from 300 feet.Bought a spool the next day for my spinning outfit.
