Group of 8 out with skipper Declan Kennedy from 8 AM to 4 PM
Spring Tide of 3.6 metres with slack water at 11 AM
Weather was far more blustery than expected, making for some sloppy seas (wind against wave) and odd drift patterns. Mostly sunny.

Best fish went to Colin with a lunker pollack of around 4 kilos, quite a few good if slightly smaller fish taken on sea pinnacles and other marks.
Mackerel were hard to come by, and ranged small to excellent sized.

Coalfish in the 1-2 kilo range were present in hordes and turned some of the marks into unfishable disasters.

Good day out for all concerned, skipper tried his very best to put us over fish on a variety of different marks and wasn't slow to move if the fishing dropped or if the coalfish showed. Personally landed my first cuckoo ray, a big pouting, a small cuckoo wrasse, a dogfish and the other standards making 7 species.

One other species, a nice dab, fell to the skipper in some evening drifts over the sand. He knows his stuff and has a killer flattie ring that I will be copying!

Great day out, happy to recommend. And the kit he keeps on board is good quality and well maintained, in case you don't have boat gear yourself.

Didn't overcrowd the boat either, limits it to 8 most days, so a nice combination of good value and a limited number of tangles.

Pictures to follow.
