Howth Top & Huss

We went out of howth on saturday the 26 august, first went to the back of ireland eye for mackeral and we got about 50-60 so we decided to go out off the bailey light house and try for a huss or a ray.
I had the first 3 huss in the boat from 10 to 12 lb in weight and then ronan had a huss of 15.5 lb, the fish coming to the bait on a steady basis with about another 12-15 huss of 10 - 12 lb, ronan got a really nice top on the conversation mat it was 161cm in lenght about 45lb, he also got a top of 30lb.
There was some dogs but not to bad, there no ray taken in the boat.
Bait; was mackeral and squid
Tide; rise and over the top of the high water.
A good days boat fishing.

2019 species; ballan wrasse, coalfish, cuckoo wrasse, dab, dogfish, flounder, goldsinny wrasse, mackerel, plaice, pollack, poorcod, pouting, scad, sea scorpion, spotty ray, spurdog, thornback, tub gurnard, turbot, whiting.

That is quality fishing - how far out off the Bailey were you? There's some wild currents and reefs around Howth.
