Great report johnwest - great photography! It's very good quality and there were some nice fish there. Cagey b****rds though!

How does the camera work - can you see the footage in real time or is it recorded on the device for viewing later?

Thanks,
Pat

Thanks Pajo (I'm a "pajo" myself!), Yeah the camera takes good quality video though the water was surprisingly murky on this occasion. It records onto a micro sd card contained in the unit for viewing later on the computer. Cagey b****rds? For sure; one dab followed for 6 minutes before turning away. I must try a 3 hook trace sometime, I might have had a turbot, thorny and tub full house. Regards, johnwest

Hi Donal, I continued drifting through the day. That short video is the distillation of a substantial period of time with the boring bits edited out. When drifting, I Mark each fish with a waypoint on the plotter to see if any concentration of fish shows up, on this occasion the fish were fairly well scattered so probably better to drift and cover the ground.

What video recording equipment did you use. Its nice that its focused on the rigs rather than circling around which what normally happens when you are retrieving. Its nice and clear capture.

I use the WaterWolf underwater camera set up inline with the trace. I'm toying with the idea of attaching wings or flights as in a dart to try and further reduce wobble; the camera is cylindrical and relies on underslung weights to steady it. The video capture is very clear though as I mentioned, the water was surprisingly murky on this occasion. Regards, johnwest
