People:3 of us.

Duration:5am to 11am.

Tide:coming

Weather:great

Bait: Mac

Rigs: ledger, 3hook flowing feathers.

Results: read below. . .

Report:
So a 4am start and a 40min drive to the launce in area. New ground but we were hoping the sonar would help us on our way. With a few land marks from the locals we were steaming out on flat calm seas. So first plan . Bait. Mac on the first drop so happy days. We filled enough for bait and onto the next drift with the sonar on and a look at the ground we spotted a few rough marks small but worth a drop. First fish to hit the surface was pouting then pollack and a cookoo . Nice going we all said. So onto deeper water and with the joking going on that I had not got a cod/ codling this year I set my sights for a session. On the next drop with selected feathers a nice knock and hammering to the top was my first codling(3lb). Next drop was a small ling and then another codling. So now who's laughing lads. Ha. With pollack coming and a itch for something bigger we set for rough ground. Conger traces on and not long to wait the slow pull then a hard fight the first one came to the boat with the odd dog fish beating the conger to the bait we were on good forum to make the 10species mark the goal for the day 10 or more. Then I got a hard knock and a fight to the boat and a nice 6lb ling came aboard ( that's dinner sorted) . We decided to go to one of the land marks we were total for ray and with the anchor down the ray came thick and fast and even double. Shot came my way we decided to give it 5 more min when one of the boys got a massive slap this knock even google earth would of picked it up. With a battle on his hands a 15/20 up tider a 525 mag and 40lb. Braid for his armour he went to battle 25/30 min in a massive white shadow came to the surface . Fantastic looking beast a female estimate weight 180/200 lb common skate. With nothing to boat the fish and we didn't want to gaf it . No point in my eyes damaging this beauty We got some pick along the boat unhooked it and it swam away with ease. The size of this fish was Hugh a real treat. So with one man knackered another happy with his day and me with the dinner. Home was calling . ( thanks for the rig help John west). O and we got the 10 species. .
