People:11 members Culdaff sac

Duration:10-17:00

Tide:hw 11am

Weather:overcast light rain

Bait:frozen Mack, rag, squid, sandeel

Rigs: 3 hook pat. Sabiki, Muppets, hokkai, flowing traces. Picks, shads, rubbertails

Results: Pollack, coalies, pouting, codling, grey gurnard, ling, whiting

Report: First boat outing for Culdaff SAC for 2014, steams for 45 minutes to week if te Cumberland and had the usual early season fishing with plenty of coalies to 3.5lb and a good number of Pollack to 7lb, ling came on the feed at slack tide and we had fish to 8lb which was OK. Lures were working well for Pollack and I had a nice double hook up of good sized fish on a blue sidewinder shad and green rubber worm. Fish didn't seem to picky to be honest, never are this time of year. Good days Craig and a few fresh fillets for the dinner which was welcome. Photos and video on FB page.

I've been intrigued by you guys out Culdaff last few years as like reading the reports with this nothing different. Thanks for sharing the link as will wet the appetite owing to being across the sea. You guys ever steam as far out to the edge of the ridges off Portstewart - Portrush 5 miles or so out??. 40- 50 fattoms down and rough ground?? Used to be good fishing Pirking and so forth.

Thanks, never fished those ridges but hope to explore a bit further to the east this year so we may take a look for them. Any time you want a boat trip up this way get in touch with the club sure.
