Bass Hunter, W Waterford, 17 July

Wed Jul 17, 2013 10:46 pm

[People: Me,Billy & his daughter

Duration: 16.30-21.00

Tide: falling & then risinh

Weather: Brilliant

Bait: Feathers & then mackerel
Rigs: various

Results: Mackerel, Pollock , ling and bass

Report: Picked Billy and his daughter Rea (10) up in Ardmore and set out straight to try for mackerel. At last they seem to have arrived in their droves and we were catching 6 at a time :D :D :D .

With bait on board we decided to head for a wreck. Billy had never caught a ling. I set up a rig for him. First drop and he had a nice ling onboard :D :D :D . Then it was time to try for cod or pollock on the feathers. Unfortunately the mackerel were so thick that this was impossible. No complaining though as were very glad to see them :D :D

So we headed inshore to try for a bass. We got loads of pollock. Then Rea showed us how it was done by pulling in a nice bass :D :D .

Overall a great few hours.

After all of this fishing I am going to need a holiday :!: :!: :!: .

You wouldn't chase some of that bait up to county Louth, would you?
