ballan 1.jpg[/attachment]People: Me & Moody Marlin

Duration: 4 Hours

Tide: end flood beg ebb

Weather: cloudy, light SW

Bait: Ragworm

Rigs: Spin rods, size 1 hook, 1/2oz drilled bullet
,
Results: Pollack, Wrasse, Codling

Report: Myself & MM set off to Wexford in hope of solving some electric gremlins with the Wexford boat so we could chase some Tope & Smoothies. After 10 minutes of prodding with the multimeter, we looked at eachother blankly and resorted to plan B. Jumped back in the car and back to Dublin to get Wexford boat's little sister and launch from Bulloch. We were relieved to be finally fishing after all the messing about. It didn't take long before we were getting hit by Wrasse including some nice fat ones. MM had a good Pollack hit and in an instant dive stripping line and not stopping till it was in the kelp. We tried for a couple of minutes to get it free but no joy. I've no doubt it would have been the best fish of the day. We managed to get another 15 or so Pollack, but nothing bigger than about 2lbs, a dozen Codling, and about 30 Wrasse. Really great fun on the light spin gear. Fishing itch well and truly scratched!
