Report: Headed out to sea at 7AM on the Silver Dawn (http://www.kinsalecharters.com). It was a failrly cold morining so the woolies were on. We steamed our to out location and began.
We were in the fish right away with plenty of action from pollock and cod. It was steady up until slack tide. We moved to a new mark and we were having some good action with ling and cod.
We moved once more to a mark the skipper knew. Here the fish of the day was caught. It was as nice speciman Pollock weiging in ar 14.95 LBS. It was 35 inches long and had a girth of 22 inches. I left it late to catch my first speciman of the year
It was a great day to be had by all.

It took a sidewinder rhubarb custard soft plastic lure. It was my first time using them

Sure did. I was fully convinced it was a good sized coalie. I was over a wreck and the fish started taking line. It was a balancing act to make sure that it didnt go back into the wreck at the same time giving it enough line so I wouldnt loose it.
