[b]Duration: 1300 to 1700 hrs.

[b]Tide: 2 hours either side of high

[b]Weather: Fine , force3

[b]Bait: Feathers sometimes baited.

[b]Rigs: see above and below!

[b]Results: Pollack, lsd, huss and bib.

[b]Report:71 people logged onto this site today !!!!!!!!!!!! That can't be right - surely.
Knocked hole in transome  - bilge filled and bilge pump failed. Got home quickly and safely.
Fishing - Pollack, pollack, pollack and more pollack. Catching them both mid-water and on the bottom too. Moved to deeper water c.120 feet. Still catching pollack. Eventually they went away and then lsds and huss. Later caught 4 bib. They are very pretty fish but of no size.
Must point out that I often fish baited feathers ( the lowest one on a long snood ) tight on the bottom, allowing the boat's movement to do the jigging.

Bib?

Postby kieran » Thu Sep 15, 2005 11:09 am

Hi Peter

Good to see you are still on the water... what is a bib?

Thanks
Kieran Hanrahan

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

Bib

Bib = Trisopterus luscus = Pout

Did not mention originally that a haddock was caught too. Usually caught here in the winter months.
