On my lonesome

[b> 11 - 4

[b]Tide
:Very High 14.00

Weather:Beautiful .Like being out on the Med

Bait:Mack,Crab,Squid,eel,cuttle,blacks,muss.

[b]Rigs:Allsorts

Two starfish .One was the BIGGEST i've ever seen .Typically like buses came on in a double ..

Couldnt resist the call any longer and I had filled the boat tanks last weekend so no reason to delay .

Headed out of Bulloch at 11 .Drifted around Killiney bay and Dalkey and Muglins for a couple of hours .NOt a sausage .Went up to a bank next and dropped anchor .Two rods out with wholesome baits for a lunker and one with smaller bits of black and muss but not a nibble all day .It was fantastic though and a run for the boat and all went great .Beauty of fishing on a day like even when nothing stirring that you can lay back and listen to the sea with the lovely warm sunshine bating down on you .

There was a trawler out doing the bank so there must be sonething out there .I couldnt believe it coming back that he was trawling Dalkey sound all down to in front of Loretto school there .Less than a 100 yards from shore .No wonder theres not a juvie fish or anything else in the place .

Nice clean retrieve rounded the day off well and misses even made me a cup of tea after her hard day at work .What a life.

i had a go at it 2 weeks or so ago and we only had 2 codling in the boat for 5 hours :?

The boat trawling the sound is not trawling, they dredge the sound this time of year for scallops,in doing so destroying the seabed

That's depressing about the trawler. One man's catch screwing things up for everyone else. I thought there was a ban on trawling within Dublin Bay, or is that just wishful thinking
