Report: Having travelled to ring in Clonakilty for a competition, with the weather wet but calm winds, with all the boats ready to go the comp was mysteriously cancelled , citing the bad weather!!?, at which point all the boats then set out to sea to go fishing, confused , we were!
So we decided to go to cork where we know the area pretty well, and fancied a go at the blondes in the harbour.
I managed to get my first specimum blonde at 28.5, (returned) so was very happy, we then headed offshore once the tide started to run hard in search of haddock, well we found them 6 miles out, and they were all fine fish.
A good day out after a bad start to the day, the wind did touch a force 3 during a gust that day!

Top day

Sounds like a top days fishing! Rain or not...
What bait did you get the Big Blondes on? Uptiding or down and was the boat anchored for cathing these?
Cheers
Paul

Hi,
Use downtide or uptiding, single pennel wire rig,( upper hook a small one just to hold the head of the squid, thus presenting it well, and stopping it falling down the hook and covering the point) with single whole squid whilst at anchor.
