74 Mackerel this afternoon, with just one Rod with 3 feather lure, mostly at the lower levels just off the bottom( approx 15meters deep between 4-2 hours before high water), over 2 hours or so. Feathers/hooks were in poor condition, so many dropped off while reeling in.
At the back (north side) of Irelands eye, approx 300m from the shore in a north west 1 Kt drift.
Lots of tiny codling which were a nuisance.

Never caught a Launce (just googled it as I didnt know what they were), is it only for bait or are they edible?
All 74 Mackerel in the freezer for our dinners! Even got one defrosting for my Breakfast, nothing beats fresh grilled, with absolutely nothing added, knocks the socks off anything else.
Mackerel made a mess of my shiny Shetland though with all their #2's and blood and stuff
