People: Myself, K2

Duration:6.00 p.m to 12:30 a.m.

Tide: Near enough High tide when leaving but on the drop.

Weather: Great, very little wind about, mild, odd bit of sunshine.

Bait: Mackeral, Rag Worm.

Myself and "K2" from the forum made our almost weekly trip now, out on the Missy Moo - Bangor.

For a change (very much so welcomed by myself anyway) we headed outa Bangor and straight towards Whitehead, we done a few drifts in search of Bait, the first one wasn't as productive as expected but we still managed 20+ Makerel and one very decent Herring.

[Above] Gas Rig Anchored about 2 Mile off Bangor.

After several more drifts in the same sorta area we managed 100+ Mackeral easily, the same could have been said for when we anchored on around the Antrim coast a bit, it got thorougly annoying for me, a few Macks is nice but it was getting boring to be honest, i was wanting to get somewhere remotely near the bottom but it just wasn't happening (I used a lure rig all night, small green illuminous rubber (fry)headed, tinsel assed type thing, it has a name yes, i just don't remember  ).. Someone also caught a Haddock here.

When we FINALLY got rid of the Mackeral, i enjoyed the majority of the fish on the boat pulling in many Pollock and Coalfish (nothing major, up to maybe 2lb) every few jigs while the others looked on :D K2 was fishing various spinners and rubber /lead-headed lures but it wasn't such a productive night although he did get far more Mackeral than me (i gave up :P ). 1 Cuckoo Wrasse was also lifted here.

Approaching 10pm, we decided to head back towards Whitehead and fish a wreck for Congers, result - 1 small conger of maybe 6lb and numerous Pouting, one weighing in at 1lb 10oz.

About an hour and a half later we left the spot and decided to have a quick go on a wreck very close to where the Gas Rig (pictured above) was, again Congers were the target, none were lifted, no runs either, just several small Pouting once again taken on Mackeral attached to the rig i used..

Overall a great night and great to get a change of scenery, can't wait for the next trip.
