People: mac tommy tony stephen jw

Duration: 10-00-1900

Tide: high 1pm

Weather: westerly

Bait: live mackerel

Rigs: wire

Results: 120lb (fl 75") specimen blue, ling, red and grey gurnards, pollack, coalie, dogs

Pity the Porbeagles didn't show up, maybe it has something to do with huge showls of Mackerel being reported in Islandic regions lately, lovely blue nonetheless, well done gents 8)

Nice fish lads. JW, where are you getting your weights from, is there a conversion chart for length/weight or similar. Be interested to know, we had a blue aboard Tigger 2 last year, landed by G. Wyse that was well over 7 feet long, be nice to have an idea of a weight. Put it at well over the 100 alright, took the 3 of us to lift her back over the side and after it took a mouthful out of Scotsmans bench seat resolved never again to bring something of that size into an Orkney Longliner..... :D

there's a formula as well which michael used on the boat to convert from
fork length (as opposed to total length) and girth 33 inches to weight.
Seems to be another formula on the graph below based solely on fl.
