Report:
After much organising to accomodate 4 families we finally got out with 3 families accounted for. 8 novice fishermen and women had a brilliant evening out with Declan on the Kiwi Girl. Set off slightly delayed after 5 in the evening. After travelling out for only a few minutes Declan cut the engine and dished out the tackle. Before most of us had even got our hands on the rods one of the kids started hauling in his first string of three mackerel. Within minutes everyone was busy hauling in fish and all the kids had got themselves something. The youngest was not interested in getting himself a rod but after a bit of coaxing he took hold of my rod and almost instantly had his first ever fish. Typically as soon as I went for the camera it flashed up low battery so no pics from me but I may get some from the others later in the week. After an hour of so a heavy shower was coming our way so Declan reckoned we had more than enough Mack and hauled ass out of the way of the shower and brought us to another mark for bigger fish. We baited up with mack and one of the adults hauled in a pouting. Not much luck for a good while except for yours truly catching an odd mackerel. Declan then stepped in to prove there was something down there and promptly hauled in a very nice pollack followed shortly by one of the kids repeating the trick. A few more mack was all despite moving mark but I think this could have more to do with the fishermen than anything else.

A brilliant evening was had by all and lots of fish for the next weeks eating have been returned home.
