Danshane, Howth, 26/06/2010

Sat Jun 26, 2010 6:12 pm

People: Myself, Brother in Law, Son

Duration: 12.30 - 4.00 pm

Tide: High @ 11.50 am

Weather: Sunny & breezey

Bait: Feathers & Rag

Rigs:

Results: 2 small pollock

Report:

We went out at 12.30 and headed to Balscadden to try for a few mackerel but they remained as elusive as ever.
After an hour of feathering I baited up with rag and after a short while took a small pollock.

The son wanted to move the boat instead of fish so we headed over to the back of Irelands eye looking for mac.
No luck on that front, but the brother in law caught a small pollock too.

A couple of lads in another boat had taken just one mackeral (and a small one at that) they said.

Headed back in happy to have been out and not blanked.

Nice to see you got something better than a blank. Hopefully the next trip or two will produce more.

The Macks sure are scarce, it's a shame, hopefully they will show soon.

Great to see the son taking an interest and hopefully he's hooked now.

Cheers Damien,
And Thanks very much for the pm the other day, the Pollock were where you said they'd be. The young lad was chuffed to see a couple of fish come on board today. We released them to fatten up for another day.

We didn't go and try for any doggies as when we were at Balscadden the waves coming round the head were big. That's another days fishing to come.
