Sun Jun 06, 2010 4:18 pm

People:me and the dog

Duration: 5 hours

Tide:high to low

Weather:calm varible wind light 2m swell ideal conditions

Bait:mackerel

Rigs:10oz lead flowing trace with mack as bait

Results:4 x pollock to 9Ib and loads of small mackerel around

Report:launched at mullaghmore steamed 16 miles NW to the big fast reef, was a bit disapointed not to find more fish there sounder was not showing much at all :( . was hoping for a ling or a cod. never mind it was an enjoyable day still and fishing a reef in near 200ft depth was really exciting stuff :) . will go out there again in a months time to see whats there then. If I go a bit further out theres a wreck to check out.

Will do, There is a wreck next to the Rathlin Island there I have the co-ordinates on the GPS I think I'll have to check it out next time I go which will be in July now. I believe the wreck is in 70ft aprox depth. where is the Ling bank which you referred to? Still getting to know the area. Cheers :)
