its been a long winter and finally got the boat back on her mooring. myself and dave headed out of howth harbour at 11 am.with a new engine mounted the edelboy was a new boat it glided across to irelands eye in 2 minutes .i was like a child with a new toy face was sore at the end of the day from smiling.we hit a shoal of sand eel first and had 15 in a couple of hits then we got a few small pollock. iwas keeping the sand eel for ground fishing as we had no baits with us when we hit a nice shoal of macks .yes the gods where shining down on us. after another hour we headed out to the sand banks and started useing the macks we had an even dozen. while we bait fished 2 rods i still had the sabikis going this brought us 2 herring. then the doggies arrived stayed there for 2 hrs pulling dog after dog in and 1 small gurnard. we decided to head over to the back of irelands eye and try for a few pollock. so over we went and they were showing on the fishfinder but not on the hooks decided to check the petrol tank and there was enough for 1 more run so at 4 pm we went back to the harbour and dave went to the garage and got more . armed with another full tank we flitted around howth catching doggies
small pollock, even got 2 dabs on sabikis.the first of many a good day i hope chuffed to bits with the boat it handled brilliantly.and a good mixed bag of fish from howth

it was brilliant just to be out again and fishing .i was pleased with the consumpion john the tank is only a 20 litre one and we haddent planned on staying out.so for 5 hrs of fishing and alot of moving [playing with the new toy] we used only 20 litres 30 euros but having the extra power it was worth every penny

Good luck with the new setup, you'll hit the banks in no time at all now.
Nice to see the Macks showing, was out of Howth myself on Friday but never bothered trying for any as anyone I had spoke to before had drawn blanks on them.
Will try for them on my next outing.
