People:Stan, Paul & Willie
Duration: 10.30-17.00
Tide: ??
Weather:Brilliant
Bait:Macs, squid & crab
Rigs: Tope traces....2 hooks flowing
Results: tope, smooth hounds, ray, dogs & whiting
Report: Left Dublin at 8.15am and were on piers at around 9.45.
From the start the went very well. The weather was superb. We motored S & anchored between the buoys. I got a smallish tope around 20lb

and then Paul caught a very nice thornback.
After a while the tide became too strong and the anchor would not hold. So we motored up to the Rooney Rock. Here we caught 3 more ray and a few more smoothies ( all smallish)

. The bait began to disappear as quickly as we put it in the water. So Willie put down so bait on small feathers and immediately had pin whiting.
At 17.00 we decided to lift the anchor and almost had it hauled when the engine cut out

. As soon as I turned the key I just got a warning whistle.
On the radio for help and the Courtown lifeboat came out to bring us back in.
It was great to have the GPS to give our exact location. What a superb service the RNLI give. Thanks very much to them for the rescue.
Am a bit puzzled that the engine broke down as I have just gotten it serviced by DDM marine.

Will contact them tomorrow to see what the problem is. Hopefully, it is something minor.
