Postby jd » Sun May 29, 2005 8:40 pm

People: Me, Myles, Les (skipper) and Sinead

Duration: 10.30 am to 4.30 pm

Tide: Highwater 9.30 am

Weather: Fine

Bait:Rag,Sand Eel and Crab

Rigs: Hokkai, shrimp rigs, flowing traces for gilling

Results: Pollack,Codling,Ballan Wrasse,Cuckoo Wrasse,Pouting and Gurnard

Report: I arrived down in Kilmore on spec, as did Myles, and we were the only punters looking for a spare. Possibly the weather the day before had put people off.
We tried for mackeral in the bay but nothing doing, Myles caught a small gurnard.Around the islands and the brandies, plenty of Pollack to Black Hokkais and traces with Jellies or Sand Eels. Wrasse to shrimp rig with crab or ragworm (plenty of pollack on these too). 2 pouting, 1 to muppet with sand eels, other to shrimp rig with crab. Enjoyable days fishing-
