People:me myself i
Duration:hour and half
Tide:rising
Weather:nice and calm becoming choppy
Bait:
Rigs:sabikis and hokais
Results:mackeral and codling and auk
Report:went out to the boat to put on the pump and then decided to give the engine a little run so i headed out of the harbour and thought sure i might as well give my line a wetting [well thats my story and im sticking to it]
also did you ever notice how you get no signal when you turn your phone off dropped the sabikis in full rig of small codling wow they must have been waiting for me water was alive with them every drop so after a few drifts i switched
to hokais codling still attacking then 2 macks after about an hour lost count of the codling but the hokais wernt hooking them as deep as the sabikis so they swam away then 3 single macks was getting ready to head back to port
when the rod took a good hit struck it struck back blood pumping looking forward to a good pollock or cod then up it came an auk poor fella must have been chasing the codling and went in to the hokais got him on board and had to get a towel to cover his head once id done that he stayed still i was able to unhook him two hooks in each wing
as soon as i got him over the side he dived and came back up and started washing himself but never moved 10 ft from the boat for about 20minutes it was great to see him dive back down after what would have been a terrible shock
and so 2 hrs late i headed in to face the music
